MARKETING/WEB INTERNSHIP (SPRING/SUMMER 2017)

This position will work in a variety of roles to help in the marketing of shows, releases, and any other endeavor of Square Cat Vinyl. This will involve primarily online marketing work with other marketing outlet opportunities. This position is an unpaid position for college credit. The hours are flexible depending on class schedules. We are looking for approximately 10-20 hours per week in a commitment.

Duties:

  • Social media marketing of Square Cat Vinyl events and concerts
  • Assistance with maintenance of social media channels to keep them up to date with events and new releases
  • Assistance with maintenance of website to keep up to date with events, new releases, and our shopping page
  • Help in developing blog posts and mass emails sent out to customers
  • Help in creating promotions and ads utilized by the shop

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Current college student using the internship as credit for your program
  • Studying marketing, business, web design, graphic design, communications, or related field
  • Prior experience in helping to manage a business or organization's social media platforms or website
  • Knowledge of music, both on a local and larger scale is highly preferred

LIVE MUSIC/BOOKING INTERNSHIP (SPRING/SUMMER 2017)

This position will primarily assist with the live music and event side of Square Cat Vinyl. This position is an unpaid position for college credit. The hours are flexible depending on class schedules. We are looking for approximately 10-20 hours per week in a commitment.

Duties:

  • Assisting with communication between bands, artists, and our venue here at Square Cat Vinyl with respect to booking shows and/or events
  • Assistance with day of show duties including ticket taking, sound setup assistance, and other necessary roles needed the day of an event or show
  • Assistance in scouting local, regional, and national talent for shows and performances at the shop
  • Help in organizing and maintaining our event calendar 

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Current college student using the internship as credit for your program
  • Studying business, music, marketing, communications, or related field
  • Prior experience in booking live shows highly preferred
  • Knowledge of music, both on a local and larger scale is highly preferred
